Top 20 Most Anticipated in Fall 2015

Greetings,

Now that I have talked about my Top 20 movies that have already been released I figured I would do a Top 20 of the movies yet to come out this year. Here we go:

20) Steve Jobs- Not to take anything away from this movie because it seems great but I'm getting a little tired out of the Steve Jobs story. This movie has the best cast of all 3 movies with Michael Fassbender playing the lead role along with Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels. That plus the incredible director of Danny Boyle is why this movie even makes it on the list and still believe you should go out and give it a shot when it hits theaters on October 9th.
19) In the Heart of the Sea- Putting Ron Howard's name on a film already gets me excited and then reading that this is his version of Moby Dick plus seeing the trailer shows this is a movie that needs to be seen in theaters. Chris Hemsworth is in the lead which is interesting and has a good supporting cast with Cillian Murphy and Brendan Gleeson. Director plus story is why I'm excited for this movie which hits theaters on December 11th.
18) The Night Before- Another crazy Seth Rogen film got me interested but then seeing he had a new gang going with him in this story with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Anthony Mackie should make this even more interesting to see. The trailer looks great and we see there are going to be some crazy celebrity cameos. Very much looking forward to this new holiday comedy coming to the theaters on November 25th.
17) Everest- Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin, Jason Clarke, Robin Wright, and Keira Knightley make up a great cast for this movie that seems like it isn't going to just be about the stunning IMAX visuals that it seems like in the trailer. I believe this is going to take great acting by this cast to make up for what seems like a very simplistic story. This movie comes into theaters on September 25th.
16) The Walk- A Robert Zemeckis film starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt is pull enough to get you into the movie but after seeing the stunning IMAX 3D visuals and reading the story into what this movie is about makes you want to go to the theater just to see how crazy this will be on the big screen. This movie hits theaters on October 9th.
15) Creed- Rocky is back, kinda. Michael B Jordan is one of my favorite new actors after seeing him in Fruitvale Station and seeing him come into the world of Rocky sounds intriguing. I really didn't want to see another Rocky until I saw the trailer for this film and saw it isn't going to be solely about Stallone which makes this more intriguing than any other Rocky sequel. For all you Rocky fans this is going to hit theaters on November 25th.
14) Pan- This movie seems like a new and true telling as to who Peter Pan is and the origins of some of our beloved characters from our childhood like Tiger Lilly, Blackbeard, and James Hook. This movie looks like it gets some good performances out of already good/great actors. Interested to see how the story is told and where it ends off when this movie hits theaters on October 9th.
13) Good Dinosaur- Pixar, Pixar, and Pixar. Do you need anything else? I don't think Pixar has ever made a bad film in my opinion but this movie seems like another one of those greats. The story of a boy and his dog where a dinosaur is the boy and a boy is the dog seems like a story that could be greatly told with scenes to tug on the heart strings and get some great laughs which is why we all go to the movies in the first place. Time for another great time for the family at the movies on November 25th.
12) Sicario- First thing I heard of this movie was Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro which made me look more into it. The story seems great where an FBI agent played by Blunt joins a task force against the war on drugs at the US/Mexico border. Watch the trailer for this film once and I can promise you will be very eager to see this movie when it gets to theaters on September 18th.
11) Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials- The first movie in this series surprised me greatly as to how much I enjoyed it but didn't really enjoy the ending because you could really tell they were setting up for this movie The Scorch Trials. I really liked the trailer for this and am interested to see where they are going to go with this next movie and the mystery behind the story we learned once they escaped the maze. Find out what happens next once the movie hits theaters on September 18th.
10) Crimson Peak- Guillermo Del Toro directing this type of a movie should always get you excited even before you see the cast of Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, and Mia Wasikowska. After seeing the trailer for this film I am more intrigued then ever to see exactly how the story of this movie is going to work with the crazy visual masterpiece Guillermo is certain to create. This thriller hits theaters on October 16th.
9) Legend- Tom Hardy playing twin notorious gangsters is all you should need to get you interested in seeing this possible Oscar nominated performance. Then you add in the cast of Emily Browning, Taron Egerton, and Paul Bettany this seems like it will be another strong biography to add to the other movie later in this list. Can't wait to see another great performance by Tom Hardy when this hits theaters on October 2nd.
8) Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt 2- The final Hunger Games movie is going to be the best one in my opinion with the action that was missing from Pt 1 and the best of story as this is the conclusion where it all comes together. For those that have read the books already know that the story has changed but it has changed in a way to make the story better for the movies. Very excited for the final goodbye to these characters we have gotten close to over the years when this comes to theaters on November 20th.
7) Black Mass- Could Johnny Depp finally be back to his former glory? The true story of one of the most infamous and violent criminal in Boston especially becoming an informant to help the FBI only to take down a family who is invading his turf. The trailer looks like a true return to form from Depp but not sure if it will last the entire movie. Also very excited about this cast with Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton, Corey Stoll, Kevin Bacon, Adam Scott and even Dakota Johnson when this movie comes out on September 18th.
6) The Martian- Haven't read the book but people say it is a phenomenal story so I am looking forward to this movie especially after watching the second trailer, do not watch the first. One of the best ensemble casts with great new and old actors Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Sebastian Stan, Sean Bean, Michael Pena, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Donald Glover, an Jeff Daniels. Hopefully Ridley Scott gets us back to being excited about his movies when this hits theaters on October 2nd.
5) Bridge of Spies- Director Steven Spielberg, writers The Coen Brothers, and starring Tom Hanks screams Oscars. Then the trailer drops and this movie gets even more exciting. Story of an American lawyer being recruited by the CIA during the Cold War to help rescue a pilot who is being detained in the Soviet Union has to get you excited to go and see this movie when it comes to theaters on October 16th.
4) Spectre- This movie trailer looks like a great sequel to one of my favorite Bond movies of all time Skyfall. Daniel Craig is proving why he is one of the greatest Bonds and it seems like Christoph Waltz is going to add to the long list of great Bond villians. Sam Mendes back to direct gets me excited as he directed Skyfall as well so I know I will be there opening night to see this movie in IMAX when it hits theaters on November 6th.
3) The Revenant- Cast with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy in a movie directed by Alejandro Gonzalez who directed one of my favorite movies of 2014 Birdman. The trailer for this movie looks incredible and the story seems like something that will wanting more and more. Can't wait for this movie that opens in limited release in December 2015.
2) The Hateful Eight- Another great Quentin Tarantino movie with a phenomenal cast Samuel L Jackson, Walton Goggins, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and maybe Channing Tatum. Story of a bunch of bounty hunters being trapped in a shelter by a blizzard with Russell and his bounty Leigh seems like a crazy character based movie that Tarantino does so well. Cant wait for this which also comes in limited release in December 2015.
1) Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens- This movie is a return to greatness for the movie franchise of all movie franchises. We all know Star Wars the original trilogy is a movie that started careers of many directors and actors who saw the movie and wanted to make the next Star Wars type movie. Although the prequels disappointed a lot of Star Wars fans it still brought us back into the world. The Force Awakens is now a sequel not a prequel to the original trilogy which to me seems great to find where the characters we fell in love with have went and what exactly happens after the supposed "fall of the empire" after the death of the Emperor and Darth Vader. J.J. Abrams directing this seems like the perfect fit and bringing back the original 3 with the new cast will make for a movie that will have us all screaming in surprise and crying in joy. Make sure to get tickets early for the opening night and get there early when this hits theaters on December 18th.

So what do you think about the list? Are you as excited for these movies as I am? Anything you hadn't heard of or anything on your list that I didn't have on mine? Let me know

Steven
