Rogue One Review

The film definitely opens different than any other Star Wars film as there is no opening crawl. No opening crawl means a lot of the casual movie fans may have a hard time getting into the story of the film at the beginning but hardcore Star Wars fans will be able to jump right in. The beginning of the film bringing the characters together was done very well. Kassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, and Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones, acted very well off of eachother. K2-S0, droid voiced by Alan Tudyk is my favorite character, bringing the humor in moments where it was definitely needed and did not feel forced. Donnie Yen gives an excellent performance as well. This is a great war film which is shown in the trailer and followed up very well throughout the film. The second part of the film does have some slow parts for the non-Star Wars' fans but the diehard fans will enjoy the references throughout and the story within. Honestly the main reason to go see this movie is the last 45 minutes of the film. The action in the last part of this film will have you on the edge of your seat as an action movie fan and may have you cheering as a Star Wars fan. Vader is in this film sparingly but when he is on the screen he is exactly as you would hope to see him and better. If you see this film early enough in the day or evening you are going to want to have Episode 4: New Hope ready to play as soon as you get home because the way this film leaves off will make you want to start the Original Trilogy all over again. Definitely recommend this movie to Star Wars' fans but I believe all movie fans will enjoy the story and definitely the action throughout but the last part of this film will go down as on of the most epic war scenes in film. As a diehard fan I will score the film 9/10.
