Movies To Watch 2017 Pt 2 of 6

Now that we have made it through January and February, which are usually the worst months for film in the year, it's time to get into March and April. Again, this list isn't exactly the movies I am looking forward to the most, although I will point out the ones I want to see above the others, but the films that are scheduled to bring out the widest audiences or have the highest critical ratings throughout the year.

March Films 2017

3/3/17
  • Before I Fall- Based on the novel of the same name. When a popular teen girl is killed in a car crash, she relives the critical day seven times and makes changes in an attempt to affect the outcome. In the process, she changes as she tries to make up for her previous self-absorbed behavior and gains a better understanding of herself and others.
  • The Shack- Based on the novel of the same name. After suffering a family tragedy, Mack Phillips (Sam Worthington) spirals into a deep depression that causes him to question his innermost beliefs. Facing a crisis of faith, he receives a mysterious letter urging him to an abandoned shack. Mack journeys to the shack and encounters an enigmatic trio of strangers led by a woman named Papa (Octavia Spencer).
  • Logan- Starring Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart. In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces. This film is one of my most anticipated films of the year.
3/10/17
  • Kong: Skull Island- Starring Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, and Brie Larson. Explorers encounter a gigantic ape and other monstrous creatures after traveling to an uncharted island in the Pacific Ocean. Another of my most anticipated movies of the year.
  • The Wall- Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and John Cena. A deadly psychological thriller that follows two soldiers pinned down by an Iraqi sniper, with nothing but a crumbling wall between them. Their fight becomes as much a battle of will and wits as it is lethally accurate marksmanship.

3/17/17
  • Beauty and the Beast- Starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Josh Gad, and many more. The live-action remake of the 1991 Disney classic that was the first animated movie to ever be nominated for the Best Picture Oscar. Easily one of my most anticipated films of the year and probably one of the highest earning films as well.
  • The Belko Experiment- Written by James Gunn. The American Belko Company in South America is mysteriously sealed off at the start of work, leaving 79 people trapped in an office building, forced to kill each other or be killed.

3/24/17
  • CHiPs- Starring Michael Peña and Dax Shepard. In a movie based off the tv show, undercover
FBI agent Frank "Ponch" Poncherello (Pe
ña) works with rookie motorcycle cop Jon Baker (Shepard) to investigate police corruption in California.
  • Life- Starring Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal. The six-member crew of the International Space Station is on the cutting edgeg of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of life on Mars. As the crew conducts research, their methods end up having unintended consequences, and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.
  • Power Rangers- Starring Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks. Based on the franchise of the same name. The story follows five ordinary high schoolers who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove - and the world - is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Very curious to see this as I was a fan of the original TV series and movie from 1995.
3/31/17
  • Boss Baby- Voice of Alec Baldwin. Universal story about how a new baby's arrival impacts a family, told from the point of view of a wildly imaginative 7 year old named Tim. Boss baby (Baldwin) wears a suit, speaks fluently, and tries to make babies the cutest things on the planet again.
  • Ghost in the Shell- Starring Scarlett Johansson. The Major (Johansson), a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, leads an elite task force known as Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out advancements in cyber technology. Interesting looking movie based off of a Japanese Anime.

April Films 2017

4/7/17
  • The Case for Christ- Based on the true story of an award-winning investigative journalist, an avowed atheist, who applies his well-honed journalistic and legal skills to disprove the newfound Christian faith of his wife with unexpected and life-altering results.
  • Smurfs: The Lost Village- Voices of Rainn Wilson and Demi Lovato. With the evil wizard Gargamel (Wilson) hot on their trail, Smurfette (Lovato) and others embark on a journey through the Forbidden Forest to find a mysterious village.

4/14/17
  • The Fate of the Furious- Now that Dom (Vin Diesel) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) are on their honeymoon, Brian (late Paul Walker) and Mia (Jordana Brewster) have retired from the game, and the rest of the crew has been exonerated, the team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Charlize Theron) seduces Dom back into a world of crime that he can't seem to escape, the crew will face trials that will test them as never before. 8th film of the franchise that has seemed to surpass the highest expectations.

4/21/17
  • No major releases this week worth noting

4/28/17
  • The Circle- Starring Emma Watson, Tom Hanks, and John Boyega. Based on a novel of the same name. A young female tech worker, Mae (Watson), takes a job at a powerful tech and social media corporation, The Circle. As she rises through the ranks Mae is encouraged by company founder Eamon Bailey (Hanks) to liver her life with complete transparency, but no one is really safe when everyone is watching.

These are the final two months of the year before we get into the "Summer Blockbuster" season. March is loaded with plenty of good quality films that I am very much looking forward to and I hope you all enjoy as well.
