Fist Fight Review

Fist Fight follows teacher, Andy Campbell (Charlie Day), on the last day of school before Summer trying his best to keep it together amid student pranks, a dysfunctional administration, and budget cuts that threaten his job. Things go from bad to worse when he crosses Ron Strickland (Ice Cube) who is the school's toughest and most feared teacher. When Strickland gets fired, due in part to Campbell snitching on him, he challenges Campbell to a fight after school. As news of the showdown spreads like wildfire, Andy desperately seeks any way out of his date with certain doom.

This movie is honestly about an hour to long. The premise and the cast make the film seem like it would be absolutely hilarious but it tries way to hard to make those laughs happen and is obscenely over the top in the pranks the students are able to play. Outside of the last 30 minutes of the movie I would score the other hour at about a 2/10 as I may have laughed once or twice throughout but the events in those final 30 save the score partly. Charlie Day again has his loud screaming voice which can work sparingly but is way overused during this film and Ice Cube plays the same character we have seen played better in the first Ride Along and 21 and 22 Jump Street. With all the starring cast being considerably hilarious in their own rights I honestly believe the funniest part of the film is a scene starring Andy's daughter played by Alexa Nisenson.

I really can't recommend anyone spending money or time watching this movie as it is really a waste of both of them. Score 5/10.
