SUMMER TIME IS in full effect, AND that means we are in the full of "BLOCKBUSTER SEASON". EVERY YEAR THE BIGGEST FILMS COME OUT BETWEEN MAY AND AUGUST AND BRING IN MANY OF THE MOST ANTICIPATED FILMS OF THE YEAR. IN THIS POST I WILL BE COVERING THE MONTHS OF july-august AND SHOWING WHAT THE BIGGEST MOVIES EACH WEEKEND AHEAD ARE AS WELL AS HIGHLIGHTING THE MOVIES I HAVE MY EYE ON MORE THAN THE OTHERS.

- Spiderman: Homecoming -A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine--distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man--but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
- A Ghost Story - Recently deceased, a white-sheeted ghost (Casey Affleck) returns to his suburban home to console his bereft wife (Rooney Mara), only to find that in his spectral state he has become unstuck in time, forced to watch passively as the life he knew and the woman he loves slowly slip away. Increasingly unmoored, the ghost embarks on a cosmic journey through memory and history, confronting life's ineffable questions and the enormity of existence.

- War for the Planet of the Apes - In the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. - Wish Upon - In the latest horror thriller from the director of Annabelle, 17-year-old Clare (Joey King) is barely surviving high school, along with her friends Meredith (Sydney Park) and June (Shannon Purser). So when her dad (Ryan Phillippe) gifts her an old music box with an inscription that promises to grant the owner's wishes, she thinks there is nothing to lose. Clare makes her first wish and, to her surprise, it comes true. Before long, she finally has it all: money, popularity and her dream boy. Everything seems perfect - until the people closest to her begin dying in gruesome and twisted ways. Now, with blood on her hands, Clare has to get rid of the box, before it costs her and everyone she loves the ultimate price.

- Dunkirk - Acclaimed director Christopher Nolan directs this World War II thriller about the evacuation of Allied troops from the French city of Dunkirk before Nazi forces can take hold. Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh and Mark Rylance co-star, with longtime Nolan collaborator Hans Zimmer providing the score.
- Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets - Visually spectacular new adventure film from Luc Besson, the legendary director of The Fifth Element. In the 28th century, Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are a team of special operatives charged with maintaining order throughout the human territories. The two embark on a mission to the astonishing city of Alpha-an ever-expanding metropolis where species from all over the universe have converged. There is a mystery at the center of Alpha and Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.
- Girls' Trip - When four lifelong friends (Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish) travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there's enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush.

- Atomic Blonde - A high-stakes, global action-thriller that takes place in the city of Berlin, on the eve of the Wall's collapse and the shifting of superpower alliances. Charlize Theron portrays Lorraine Broughton, a top-level spy for MI6, who is dispatched to Berlin to take down a ruthless espionage ring that has just killed an undercover agent for reasons unknown. She is ordered to cooperate with Berlin station chief David Percival (James McAvoy), and the two form an uneasy alliance, unleashing their full arsenal of skills in pursuing a threat that jeopardizes the West's entire intelligence operation.
- The Emoji Movie - This animated comedy takes place in Textopolis, a world inside a smartphone that's inhabited by various emojis. There, an emoji named Gene (voiced by T.J. Miller) is ashamed that he has multiple facial expressions while his colleagues only have one each, and he embarks on a quest to be like everyone else. James Corden, Ilana Glazer, Jennifer Coolidge, Patrick Stewart, and Maya Rudolph also lend their voices to this film from Sony Pictures Animation.
- Brigsby Bear - A sheltered man-child (Kyle Mooney) attempts to make a movie adaptation of his favorite kids' show, Brigsby Bear Adventures. Claire Danes, Mark Hamill, and Greg Kinnear co-star in this comedy, which was directed by Dave McCary and co-written by Mooney and Kevin Costello.

- The Dark Tower - Director Ron Howard brings Stephen King's most beloved series to life with this first chapter chronicling gunslinger Roland Deschain's journey to find an ever-elusive tower in an alternate dimension filled with fantastical creatures and characters directly connected with many of the author's most famous works. The feature film will be followed by two sequels, each of which will be bridged by two television series. Starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey.
- Detroit - From Academy Award winning director Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty). DETROIT tells the gripping story of one of the darkest moments during the civil unrest that rocked Detroit in the summer of '67.
- Kidnap - The film, starring Halle Berry, is a heart-stopping action thriller following a mother (Berry) who will stop at nothing to rescue her kidnapped son.
- Wind River - A chilling thriller that follows a rookie FBI agent (Elizabeth Olsen) who teams up with a local game tracker with deep community ties and a haunted past (Jeremy Renner) to investigate the murder of a local girl on a remote Native American Reservation in the hopes of solving her mysterious death.

- Annabelle: Creation - A couple still grieving the death of their daughter take in children from a local orphanage, but the family are soon terrorized by a demented doll known as Annabelle. Anthony LaPaglia, Miranda Otto, Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, and Lulu Wilson star in this horror sequel from director David F. Sandberg (Lights Out).
- The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature - Surly Squirrel (Will Arnett) and the gang are back. We are once again in Oakton where the evil mayor has decided to bulldoze Liberty Park and build a dangerous amusement park in its place. Surly and his ragtag group of animal friends band together to save their home, defeat the mayor, and take back the park. Also features the voice talent of Katherine Heigl, Jackie Chan, Peter Stormare, Bobby Cannavale, Isabela Moner, and Maya Rudolph.

- Logan Lucky - Trying to reverse a family curse, brothers Jimmy (Channing Tatum) and Clyde Logan (Adam Driver) set out to execute an elaborate robbery during the legendary Coca-Cola 600 race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
- The Hitman's Bodyguard - The world's top protection agent (Ryan Reynolds) is called upon to guard the life of his mortal enemy, one of the world's most notorious hitmen (Samuel L. Jackson). The relentless bodyguard and manipulative assassin have been on the opposite end of the bullet for years and are thrown together for a wildly outrageous 24 hours. During their raucous and hilarious adventure from England to the Hague, they encounter high-speed car chases, outlandish boat escapades and a merciless Eastern European dictator (Gary Oldman) who is out for blood. Salma Hayek joins the mayhem as Jackson's equally notorious wife.
