American Assassin Review

American Assassin follows the rise of Mitch Rapp (Dylan O'Brien) a CIA black ops recruit under the instruction of Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton). The pair is then enlisted by the CIA to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks and discover a pattern in violence leading to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent to stop a mysterious operative (Taylor Kitsch) intent on starting a World War in the Middle East.

The performances of Michael Keaton, Dylan O'Brien, and Taylor Kitsch are honestly about the best things that come from this movie. The story is one that has been the basis of way to many action movies of the 80's and 90's but was done much better in those days. The action is fun enough and the Keaton over the topness that we love from him makes the scenes he is in easily the best ones. If you want a movie to catch on TNT or TBS one night when you're sitting at home with nothing better to do then this is the movie for you and I can't recommend someone spending the money to go and see this one in the theater.

4.5/10
